All-New Mitsubishi Outlander wins 'Best Automotive Design of the Year' Award at OER Business Summit and Awards 2022

Muscat: General Automotive Company (GAC), the official distributor for Mitsubishi Motors in Oman, is pleased to announce that the all-new Mitsubishi Outlander has been presented with the 'Best Automotive Design of the Year' Business Excellence Award by Oman Economic Review (OER). The prestigious award was conferred to GAC at the 13th Edition of the OER Business Summit and Awards held recently at Sheraton Oman Hotel, Muscat.

The awards ceremony was held under the auspices of HE Shaikh Salim bin Mustahail Al Mashani and with HE Ahmed bin Hassan Al Dheeb, Deputy Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ), as the chief guest. Also in attendance were top business leaders from across Oman. Manoj Ranade, General Manager of GAC, and Tagawa Yuichi, from Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, Japan Office, received the award at the event on behalf of GAC.

Manoj Ranade commented on the Outlander, saying, "We are extremely proud to have won such a prestigious and highly coveted award. The Outlander is an outstanding new model that features a bold new design direction for the brand and is also the best-equipped and most technologically advanced vehicle Mitsubishi Motors has ever sold in the region. Moreover, it sets new benchmarks for its class in almost every category, from design to comfort to safety to performance and technology."

All new from the wheels up, the all-new Outlander has been reimagined and reinvented in every way. To begin with, it was crafted under the design language of "I-Fu-Do-Do," which means "authentic and majestic" in Japanese. This design ethos is reflected in the vehicle's bold proportions, muscular fenders, and the chiselled lines of the next-generation "Dynamic Shield" grille.

Inside, the Outlander is a quiet and serene space, showcasing quality and convenience through class-above materials and placing a premium on comfort and quality materials. It also features spacious seating for seven, leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, and much more.

Offering more technology and connectivity than any previous Mitsubishi model, the all-new Outlander features an available 12.3-inch, full-colour LCD digital driver display, a first for Mitsubishi Motors. Also available on select trims is a 9-inch SDA centre touchscreen with a built-in navigation system, a 10-speaker BOSE® sound system, and a 10.8-inch full-colour head-up display (HUD).

Also new is the engineering underpinnings of the all-new Outlander. The new model now rides on a next-generation platform that offers a stable foundation for a more confident and comfortable driving experience. Powering the all-new Outlander is a newly developed 2.5-litre, four-cylinder gasoline engine producing 184PS@6,000rpm and 244Nm@3,600rpm mated to a Eight-speed continuously variable transmission (CVT) with Sport mode.

Mitsubishi's motorsport-derived Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) all-wheel-drive system is available on higher-trim models, offering unmatched confidence for drivers in all environments. This optional system features a newly developed drive mode selector, which allows performance and grip to be tailored to the current driving conditions through six distinct settings, increasing on-road and off-pavement performance.

As the best-equipped Mitsubishi ever sold in Oman, the all-new Outlander also offers an impressive array of standard and available advanced driver assistance systems to increase driver convenience, confidence, and safety. These include seven airbags, Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), Multi-Around Monitor System and more.
