Alizz Islamic Bank announces the winners of 2nd Edition of Hiyya Awards for Women

Muscat: As part of its leading efforts to honour women on Omani Women’s Day, which corresponds to October the 17th of each year, Alizz Islamic Bank held a festive celebration on this occasion at the Sheraton Hotel Muscat under the patronage of Her Highness Dr Taghreed bint Turki Al Said, and in the presence of the Bank’s CEO Mr Sulaiman Hamad Al Harthi, and Hani Al Zubair, The Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the bank

“This token of appreciation for women is designed to make them feel proud by providing the appropriate environment for their participation in various aspects of life, enhances their status and enables them to actively participate in the comprehensive and sustainable development efforts in the country. Our glorious history, throughout all of its eras and phases, is a witness of the exceptional contributions of Omani women in various fields, thus confirming that success is not attributed to gender, but to giving. We, at Alizz Islamic Bank, have been and still partner with various parties to promote and empower women with firm belief and conviction in the importance of their participation in every aspect of life. Therefore, Alizz Islamic Bank continued its path to launch the second edition of the ‘Hiyya’ awards for women, because giving is what remains in the memory. Out of responsibility, we have undoubtedly continued our efforts to place Omani woman in a high position, whether through the products and services we provide, or through paving the way for them and creating the appropriate atmosphere that leads to their unceasing creativity wherever they set foot, and this is what we resolved to do”, said Sulaiman Hamad Al Harthi, CEO of Alizz Islamic Bank.

During the ceremony, Alizz Islamic Bank unveiled the winners of the Hiyya awards for women in its second edition. The awards were classified into several categories. The award for the best new women’s business activity went to an institution to Lolli Cake a business owned by Alia Al Maamari, and this award is given to the best female-owned business that been in existence for 12 months, while the Most Inspiring Business Woman Award went to Etab Al-Zadjali, and the Made in Oman award for the best business owned by women that manufacture and produces goods locally went to Asma Art Foundation for the virtuous Asmaa Al-Salimi, and the award for the best customer service for a female owned business that provides exceptional customer service owned by women was awarded to Rehab Al-Rahbi of the Flawless Oman, while the award for social responsibility champion went to Ms Munira Al-Riyamiya.

On a related level, the Women's Role Model of the Year award for leadership and success went to Sharifa Al-Rawahi, and finally the award for the best freelance woman went to Nawal Al-Azri, and the award for the best customer service went to Khadija Al-Raisi for the Al-Zain Nursery. Alizz Islamic Bank also presented a special lifetime achievement award to the Honourable Sabah Al Bahlani for her dedicated efforts in the past 30 years to support children with special needs. The bank also honoured the winner of Science Stars Mrs Sumiaya Al Siyabi on her recent win. The ceremony witnessed the presence of many speakers who shared their inspirational experiences to the audience, especially on how to build hope, overcome the difficulties that woman may face, whether personally or professionally. Women should continue to give, as life becomes more meaningful when a person helps others achieve success and accomplishments. Such inspiring words were presented by Dr Lamya Al-Haj, Dr Yasmin Al Bulushi, and Dr Maryam Al-Khusaibi.

It is worth noting that the ‘Hiyya’ awards for women come as appreciation gratitude from the senior management in Alizz Islamic Bank to have its own mark on the celebration of Omani Women’s Day, and for Alizz Islamic Bank to be one of the prominent supporters of women’s creative energies. The bank also recently launched exclusive banking services for women under the brand name ‘Hiyya.’ Additionally, On the day that corresponds to Omani Women’s Day, Alizz Islamic Bank organised many events and celebrations to enhance the spirit of cooperation among women working in the bank and achieving a sense of belonging to the place in which they work, which results in continuous productivity at work.
