Oman share index ends lower

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower on Tuesday and closed at 4536.06 points, down by 0.44 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 648.94 points, down by 0.65 per cent. Dhofar Tourism was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Renaissance Services, up by 2.33 per cent. Today’s top loser was Al Jazeera Services lower by 9.68 per cent.
A total number of 447 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR25.82 million with more than 27.06 million shares changing hands. Out of 32 traded stocks, 2 advanced, 15 declined and 15 remained unchanged.
Financial Index lost 0.14 per cent to close at 7,031.00 points. National Bank Of Oman was up by 1.71 per cent. Gulf Investment Services, Al Madina Takaful, Al Anwar Holding, Bank Muscat and Bank Sohar were down by 2.04 per cent, 1.96 per cent, 1.57 per cent, 1.05 per cent and 0.73 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.78 per cent to close at 6051.19 points. There were no gainers on Tuesday. Voltamp Energy, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, Sweets Of Oman and Galfar Engineering were down by 6.9 per cent, 4.55 per cent, 2.83 per cent and 0.90 per cent.
Services Sector Index lost 0.39 per cent to close at 2,426.93 points. Renaissance Services was up by 2.33 per cent. Al Jazeera Services, Muscat City Desalination, Omantel and Ooredoo were down by 9.68 per cent, 3.45 per cent, 2.70 per cent and 1.14 per cent respectively.
