Muscat: Parents in Oman who are unable to start a family can now seek assistance from state-of-the-art in-vitro fertilisation treatments at one of the leading private hospitals in Muscat.
Muscat Private Hospital (MPH) officially relaunched its In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) Centre on Wednesday, while celebrating its 15th anniversary. The revamped centre was inaugurated by Dr. Sultan bin Yaarub Al Busaidi, Advisor of Health Affairs at the Ministry of Health.
“Parents trying to conceive a baby should not worry, as the results using the treatment have, so far, been amazing, giving us a success rate of up to 35 per cent, which matches the standards around the world,” said Dr. Majida, Senior Consultant, Gynaecology and Infertility, and Head at MPH IVF Centre.
“While the upgraded IVF Centre continues to enhance the standards of infertility treatment services available in Oman, it also now has services, such as PGD (Pre Implantation Genetic Screening) and PGD (Pre Implantation Genetic Diagnosis), which will help couples reduce the risk of having a child with genetic disorders,” she said. She added that the centre is committed to improving the health and status of women in Oman by helping infertile couples with assisted reproduction.

“We don’t want prospective parents to bear the extra financial burden of travelling abroad for treatment. Therefore, we have designed the treatment plan to meet individual circumstances, including emotional, physical, and financial needs, as each person or couple is unique,” Dr. Majida said.
Founded in 2002, MPH IVF Centre in Oman is one of the leading providers of specialist infertility investigations and treatments, in a compassionate, patient-friendly atmosphere. The clinical team consists of trained medical and nursing practitioners, embryologists and administrative staff.
Regarding the treatment services, Sandeep Kumar, CEO of UME Group said, “For 15 years, the Centre, through its world class treatment and personalised care, has helped women conceive healthier babies and delivered the joy of parenthood.
“We are the first IVF Centre in Oman to complete 3,000 cycles with high success rates and having helped couples conceive 1000+ healthy babies, and we are committed to deliver world-class treatments to the Omani community and make their dreams of having children become a reality”, he added.
Subba Rao, Director at MPH, said that the hospital is running a fertility campaign starting July 8th, 2018.
“As a first-of-its-kind initiative, MPH IVF Centre is launching a 15-day Fertility Camp and we urge all women -- single, married and mothers -- to check their fertility health. We will be providing free initial consultations and lab tests to evaluate fertility profiles, and also provide complimentary dietary advice, as well as 15 percent discounts on first IVF cycle,” Rao said.
