Oman share index ends marginally lower

Muscat: The MSM30 index closed on a flat note at 4517.27 points, down by 0.06 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 642.55 points, down by 0.07 per cent. Bank Nizwa was the most active in terms of volume and Bank Muscat was most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Ooredoo, up by 1.92 per cent while the top laggard was Bank Nizwa lower by 2.22 per cent.
A total number of 384 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.15 million with more than 6.22 million shares changing hands. Out of 34 traded stocks, 3 advanced, 12 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net sellers for OMR167,000 worth of shares followed by the GCC & Arab investors for OMR93,000, while foreign investors were net buyers for OMR261,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.19 per cent to close at 6,971.64 points. National Bank Of Oman and HSBC Bank Oman were up by 1.69 per cent and 0.88 per cent respectively. Bank Nizwa, Al Sharqia Investment Holding, Oman United Insurance, Muscat Finance and Al Madina Takaful were down by 2.22 per cent, 1.72 per cent, 1.27 per cent, 1.18 per cent, and 1.04 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.15 per cent to close at 5968.40 points. There were no gainers on Monday. Galfar Engineering was the only loser and was down by 1.90 per cent to close at OMR0.103.
Services Sector Index lost 0.04 per cent to close at 2,431.45 points. There were no gainers. Renaissance Services and Sembcorp Salalah was down by 1.30 per cent and 0.44 per cent respectively.
