Nick emerges overall winner of MRR Summer Series' second race

Muscat: Nick Conlan emerged the overall winner of the second Muscat Road Runners Summer Series races held near Al Amerat.
Nick Conlan clocked the best time of 19:52 overall in the 5.4km event and at the same time finished on top of the Men's Open category.
The over five kilometre route followed tracks winding down towards the dam before returning across the wadi to the start point.
The temperature and humidity made it a tough race
The MRR Summer Series consists of six races, all off-road, with four races needed to qualify for the series T-Shirt and overall points.
Finishing second behind Nick was Mahmoud Seiam, who ran the distance in 21:26 and third was David Muljolland in 21:42.
The Female Open was won by Clare Mullenger from Dubai Striders. She covered the distance in 23:05 an effort which saw her finish in the 10th place overall.
Finishing second behind Clare was Birgit Schulz (23:29) and the third spot was won by Irene Ng’eno (24:42)
The winner of the 2.8k junior race was Kiki in a time of 14:00 followed by Lucy in 14:26 and Erin 3rd in 19:47.
The organisers also thanked the race directors, the volunteers for registration, water stations and photographs.

Female open: 1. Clare Mullenger - 23:05; 2. Birgit Schulz - 23:29; 3. Irene Ng’eno - 24:42.
Male open: 1. Nick Conlan - 19:52; 2. Mahmoud Seiam - 21:26; 3. David Mulholland - 21:42.
Female veteran: 1. Birgit Schulz - 23:29; 2. Fiona Vaughan - 35:12.
Male Veteran: 1. Karl D Street - 22:54; 2. Dave Salt - 24:01; 3. Paul Dean - 24:56.
Super veteran: 1. Cesare Porta - 30:08; 2. Robert Borjal - 36:36
