TAISM celebrates graduation of 40 students in Oman

Muscat: Forty Grade 12 students from The American International School of Muscat (TAISM), representing 23 nations, graduated on Thursday in the presence of Marc J Sievers, US ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman.
More than 500 parents, faculty, and students attended the event held in the school’s Bosch Center for the Performing Arts.
The 40 graduates have been accepted and plan to enrol in universities around the world including the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, Asia, the GCC and Oman.
Keith Boniface, High School Principal, presented two special awards to graduates on the morning of commencement exercises.
The awards for Academic Excellence were given to seniors Mohamed Abdelhamid , Luis Alejandro Camero, and Ali Al Farsi who ended their academic record with Highest Honours (GPA greater than 4.0).
The Outstanding Senior Award, selected by faculty, went to a student who best embodied the mission of the school. This year the award went to Terence Teo. Teo and Abdelhamid spoke at the ceremony. Shaikha Al Wahaibi, a graduating senior, was selected by the faculty to be the Master of Ceremony for the event.
Fawzi Mushantaf, Chairperson of TAISM’s Board of Directors, and Kevin Schafer, TAISM Director, awarded the diplomas to the graduates. The students were lauded for their outstanding achievements and support towards the school as well as Oman’s community.
