Five arrested on drug, fake currency charges in Oman

Muscat: Four Asian nationals in Al Khoudh have been arrested by the police on charges of possession and trafficking of drugs in association with an international gangs.
The Directorate General for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances recovered capsules of morphine apart from cash found their possession.
Fake currency seized
An Asian national was arrested in Dhofar Governorate for promoting fake currency.
Inquiries and Criminal Investigations Department at Dhofar Governorate Police Headquarters in cooperation with Salalah Police Station made the arrest after the latter received a call about someone using fake Omani currency note of OMR50 at a commercial store.
A large number of fake OMR50 currency notes were found in the possession of the arrested person. The accused in both cases have been referred to Public Prosecution.
