Oman Hockey: OHA's step to involve expatriates begins today

Muscat: Oman Hockey Association (OHA) chairman Talib Khamis Al Wahaibi, who announced his intentions to involve expatriates in his schemes of hockey development has set the ball rolling. Oman Hockey Association (OHA) according to the chairman has called for a session with the expatriate schools representative and also the expatriate clubs to push through a special programme. According to Talib Al Wahaibi, the OHA has an idea of organising tournaments with international flair, which means there will be tournaments with the involvement of expatriates. According to invitations send to expatriate representatives by OHA General Secretary Dr. Khamis Al Rahbi, the meeting, scheduled for Wednesday at the Oman Olympic Committee conference hall, will touch upon issues relating to hockey in expatriate schools. The meeting will discuss ways of introducing and developing the game of hockey in expatriate schools. The other factors that will be touched upon are description of roles of the expatriate schools, expatriate social clubs, OHA and Ministry of Sports Affairs. Hockey veteran Saiyed Ali Sibtain Naqvi will head the expatriate representation in the meeting. He will be joined by Mohammed Osama Rawat, and representatives from Indian School Mabela, Indian School Al Ghubra, Pakistan Social Club, Pakistan School Muscat, Indian School Darsait, Indian School Muscat, Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir, Indian School Al Seeb, Team Coorg, United Thalassery Sports Club, Pak Falcons and Muscat Arabian Foxes Club.
