Intex and Home Show expo opens at new convention centre

Muscat: Intex Oman and the Home Show expo got underway at the Oman Exhibition and Convention Centre (OCEC) on Monday.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr Rasheed bin Al Safi Al Huraibi, chairman of the Tender Board in presence of the Indian ambassador to Oman, Indramani Pandey.
Intex Oman, showcasing world-leading products, services, technologies and trends spanning five thrust areas of the Sultanate’s economy, kicked off here on Monday.
The three-day event, which runs from December 5–7 2016, is taking place at the prestigious OCEC, part of the new Madinat Al Irfan suburb of Muscat City.
Running alongside the expo is Intex Oman Forum, a two-day conference featuring keynote speeches and presentations on renewable energy development, sustainable water solutions, waste treatment options, and related topics.
Organised by Global Exhibitions & Conferences (GEC), this expo brings together five strategic and promising segments of the non-oil economy under one roof namely, Aquatex, Renergex, Eltex, Pumps & Valves and MTEX Oman. These are showcasing the latest technologies in water desalination, wastewater management, renewable sources of energy, power generation and transmission, pumps and valves in Omani industry and manufacturing technologies.
Featured across the five pavilions are in excess of 150 world-leading brands of products and services representing local, regional and international companies eager to expand their presence in Oman’s diversifying economy.
The 2016 edition of The Home Show also opened paving the way for four days of lucrative retail shopping, B2B transactions, financing and contracting deals, and networking opportunities.
Given its importance to advancing homeownership in the Sultanate, The Home Show is backed by the Ministry of Housing. Also extending support are Oman Housing Bank, Oman Real Estate Association, Muscat Electricity Distribution Company and Riyada, among other agencies.
Part of The Home Show’s popularity stems from the exciting raffle draws and competitions that enable visitors to walk away with attractive prizes. This time, the organisers have introduced an online contest targeted at all manner of participants.
