Oman to mark Armed Forces Day

Muscat: The Sultanate will celebrate today the anniversary of the Armed Forces Day, which falls on December 11, every year. The Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) has achieved many glories in various operations, training and armament spheres, thanks to the Royal Care, accorded by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
Various formations and units of SAF will organise a function on the occasion, in recognition to the progress, development and achievements SAF has made along with the national role SAF plays in defending the country and it contributes to the comprehensive development witnessed in the Sultanate during the blessed renaissance era.
On the occasion of the Armed Forces Day, the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) Museum will be open for citizens and residents for three days from December 13 to 15 between 8am to 5pm.
The SAF museum military and other items on display reflect the progress of the Sultan’s Armed Forces and the Royal Care extended by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces to SAF corps as seen in the various manuscripts, models and weapons depicting the deep-rooted military history of Oman.
