Oman continue to dominate Gulf Tent Pegging

Salalah: Oman riders continued to excel on the second day of the Gulf Tent Pegging Championship on Wednesday.
Watched by Sayyid Mundhir bin Saif Al Busaidi, chairman of the Oman Equestrian Federation, Oman claimed the top three places in the contest for Gulf supremacy pushing aside the challenge from UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
In the Individual Lance competition for the Gulf stage Oman riders claimed a clean sweep. Al Khamis Al Balushi emerged on top, while Safwan Zaid Al Ma'amari and Hilal Hassan Al Balushi finished second and third respectively.
In the same category for military units held simultaneously, Dawood bin A'ajib Al Musharfi of ROP Cavalry won the first place, while Hisham bin Ali Al Bakri of Sultan of Oman’s Armour Cavalry finished second. In the third spot was Isam Hobees of Royal Household Cavalry.
The Sword and Lemon team event for the Gulf stage saw Hamed bin Nasser Al Riyami of Oman clinching the gold, while Saudi Arabia's Muhanand Rishan claiming the second spot. Qatar's Eid Jassim bu Hidod took the third place.
In the military category, Saif Himood Al Ashkhari of Royal Cavalry, Omar bin Said Al Hassani of Royal Cavalry and Isam Hobees of Royal Household Cavalry finished first, second and third in that order.
